About Me

My love for cooking and baking began when I was just a teenager.

I distinctly remember watching my aunts bustle around the kitchen, prepping, cooking, baking their way through weddings, lunches, and dinners, and also busying themselves with something I've fondly grown to introduce my children to - Christmas and Easter sweet prep. We're talking all the classics - Marzipan, Nankaties, Christmas Fruitcakes, Boros - you name it. And soon, I found myself eyeing the dusty covers of recipe books in the flea markets of Bombay, saving up every last penny I had to slowly build up a collection (some of which I still have today). 

Fast forward to 2008.

My baking journey saw starters of messy kitchens, sloppily gnashed cakes, recipes haphazardly scribbled into whatever book I could find, chocolate-stained recipe books, and happy smiles on my kids' faces every time they dug into something new I had baked. My road to perfecting ganache frosting, fondant application, and presentation is all credit to my husband, who was and will always be my biggest yet most helpful and supportive critic. 

I always believe that food and dessert must be relished to every last bite and crumb, and it is this feeling that I will always carry, cook, and bake with.
